PEDESTRIAN.TV PHOTO AWARDS

Wow, I am so incredibly excited by this opportunity, its insane. The annual Pedestrian.TV Photography Awards has chosen its finalists - and I am very proud to announce that I have been chosen as one of them :)

So of course I would love to enlist your help in getting me to win the whole thing! If you fancy yourself as a bit of an art curator, click here to go and see the image in high res and "like" to vote!

The photo that you see above is the one I entered for P.TV's Mobile Photo category - a new category for photos captured only with your smart phones. And as a huge fan of iphonegraphie, I am happy to see that this category has been finally added on to the bill. Just goes to show that you don't necessarily have to parade around with the latest DSLRs to capture that perfect moment.

But I do think everyone should look this fabulous when they have an SLR slung aorund their necks.

A little back story on this photo and why I chose this one for the competition: This photo always reminds me my love of cooking; especially Asian food. And I was cooking a Thai curry one night when I was chopping up the ingredients where I fell in love with the colour combination of the jewelled lilac red onions next to the firey birds-eye chillies. I just had to take a photo of it. And I love how the "1997" filter (on Instagram) helped make the photo pop even more. I love the colours in this photo and the way it all sits.

Have you got any favourite smart phone photos that you have captured - leave it on the A&D FB Wall.

IPHONEGRAPHY: NEWYORK TRIP, BLACK JEANS, BLACKSTAR COFFEE & COLOUR

^ I have been obsessed with this song all week. Purely because I have forgotten just how good it is. Some of my favorite people on this track. Click play and enjoy this issue of #iphonegraphy. As always you can follow me in Instgr.am - search for "kasturi_" or click here.

1. It is now fourteen weeks and counting till my massive trip to New York! I am currently counting down the weeks on my Facebook Cover Header.
2. These black denim have literarily been the best purchase I have made all year. So versatile and and comfy. How did I go so long without a pair of black denim!
3. Another satisfied customer of my D I Y Jewellery - Josie is rocking some new autumn'ish colors - it looks so amazing against her top there!
4. Ha! I got this text from my bank and snorted out loud. Against my better judgement I applied for a credit card for emergency purposes while I was away in NYC. But this text is the final installment in my preparation for my big trip.  I have nothing left to organise for the trip except my suitcase.
5. Last weekend my amazing friend Dominique, her partner in crime Stef and I demolished multiple servings of Black Star Coffee. We spent five whole hours at this darling java hangout in West End contemplating our lives, troubles and The Avengers.
6. Colour blocking is still in right? ;) I definitely have never worn this much color in my adult life - I felt like a strawberry smoothy. Yum.

***Wow, an overload of red, maroons and pinks this past week.

IPHONEGRAPHY: BYOB, SUNNIES, PHOTOSHOOT, KICKS, JEWELLERY

Happy Sunday great people!
Yes you may have noticed that Amped+Dangerous got an overhaul and is rocking a new design. I have changed the format but wanted to test my design skills and come up with a stronger branding :) Being a creative this will be forever changing, but I don't mind. I love my Photoshop - and I'm getting quicker at it too. Which is a plus!

Let me know your thoughts either below or at the Facebook page - I love hearing your comments & thoughts :)   On to this issue of #iphonegraphy.

1. Build Your Own Burger: I had lamb patty and salad. Delicious. This was a much needed break from the hectic week that we have had at work :)
2. Key Hole Sunglasses.
3. We had our annual corporate photoshoot at work. This is our stack of fashion magazines we have on file which we were using to style the shoot. Read about the aftermath here.
4. Tried my hand at rocking sneakers in an outfit. God I love the mint in these kicks.
5. Brand new pieces at the "pop up store".

1. The amazing window dressing at Louis Vuitton on Cavil Avenue. Oh heyyy Mother (in the background).
2. Finally launched my Big Cartel site in lead up to Suitcase Rummage next week - ooh I'm excited. These are neon-tastic.
3. A preppy nail look. Midnight by Revlon on the base with Sportsgirl's Red on the tips.
4. I finally got myself a backpack after countless lust sessions here and here. This one is from eBay and for $27 it aint too bad.
5. Anzac Day is also my mother's birthday. So we headed down the coast to Surfers Paradise and had a relaxing day. Ramen, Gelati, Sun & Sand. I love Queensland.
6. Black Coffee Lyrics at Surfers Paradise - was very excited to try it out after a recommendation from my coffee fanatic friend, alas it was closed. But I did enjoy this piece of graffiti on the wall of the cafe.

And remember kids, you can always follow me on instagram by searching for kasturi_ : )
