Amped+Dangerous: NEWMUSICMONDAY: M.I.A, BO KEENEY, MIKKY EKKO, BIG BOI FT LITTLE DRAGON

Gooooooooooooooooood Monday to you!
Only a few more weeks till Christmas, so are you all getting terribly excited? I sure am. I love this time of year! Better bust out those Christmas CDs too! So lets get with this week's fresh serving of NewMusicMonday. Some killer tracks for you today!

1. M.I.A - atTENTion

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. M.I.A did it for the people and leaked a single of upcoming album Mathangi (thanks to a twitter fire from two renegade internet groups). With the album having been pushed back a second time this year, I love the fact that we are being treated to a sneak peek of whats to come. And judging from this track M.I.A is most definitely not slowing down... the sounds are hype and sharp with her signature mix of samples and original sounds. This isn't the first time that M.I.A has gone and leaked one of her projects, remember her video on her visual art book (click here for my article on Portable). Just goes to show, that the culture of DIY Music Promotion can be done, and when done right, your reputation simple soars beyond the WebSphere.

2. BO KEENEY - DON'T YOU WORRY

I read somewhere that Bo Keeney is like if Sinatra met Major Lazer, a perfectly odd combination of soulful jazz and dubstep. And since I am a huge huge huge fan of both genres, Bo Keeney is a godsend to me. I love his single Don't You Worry, you could listen to it over and over again and not get bored with it! With so many different changes in the melody and beat - especially when it gets to minute 2:10 when everything just slows down and gets a little bluesy. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

3. MIKKY EKKO - PULL ME DOWN

Not much info at the moment on Mikky Ekko. But all I know is that he's from Nashville, TN and that I want to know more. That golden syrupy voice is to die for. You might know Mikky from his feature on Rihanna's new Unapologetic album on the track Stay. But this single from Mikky features Clams Casino, who does the mix so much justice. Perfect rainy weather song... listen your troubles away.

4. BIG BOI FT LITTLE DRAGON - MAMA TOLD ME

80s Fantastic! What an unusual pairing, between Big Boi and Little Dragon the only thing they both have in common is the fact that they appeared on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Show this past week. But how awesome is this song! It's super fresh and makes you want to just get up and boogy! Good to hear from Big Boi again, what with Andre 3000 killing it on new tracks, I wondered where BB had gotten to. Good to know he's still kicking it at the forefront of music collaboration. Not too shabby either Little Dragon!
