NEWMUSICMONDAY: WARPAINT, LANADELRAY, OTAYO DUBB, CONNERYOUNGBLOOD

Happy Monday! How was your working day?
Refreshed by the NYC music scene, I have today for you a brand new edition of NewMusicMonday. Lets get this going on! But you can scroll all the way down for an exciting anecdote :) Still music related of course!

1. LANA DEL RAY - BURNING DESIRES

So Lana Del Ray has been saying that she is done with music and wants to focus on modelling instead. But I guess her manager thought, why not combine the two??? This sultry as hell track comes from the Del Ray camp in association with Jaguar. The song was penned for the campaign and will feature as part of the re-release of Born To Die - Paradise Edition. Wow... so many things I want to gripe about here.. but lets not. Bottom line is I love this song and it's reminiscent of what everyone thought Lana would be producing. Seductive, smoky and sexy, Burning Desire is beautiful.

2. WARPAINT - BILLIE HOLIDAY

Another friend find (and remember to leave your future NMM suggestions here) Warpaint are a Los Angelas group and they make such pretty music. This track Billie Holiday is their newest release.

3. CONNER YOUNGBLOOD - A SUMMER SONG

What a perfect song to lead you right into summer. While I'm getting ready for Fall here, the rest of my Aussie comrades are gearing up for summer. Festival and party season is upon us, so I suggest that you do the right thing and add Conner Youngblood's track, A Summer Song,  to your ultimate Summer 2012 playlist.

4. OTAYO DUBB - A LIL MORE FT BAMBU

Produced by Fatgums, Otayo Dubb's newest is pretty catchy. Especially the loop in the background.. "bap ba da paaa....bap ba da paaa". Love it.

A nice mix of genres here. What did you think? Which ones did you like? Leave a comment!

Also I am pretty excited to share with you guys that last week I got to go and see Gossip play live at The Brooklyn Bowl - it was pretty fan freaking-tastic. But what topped it off was that when the band had finished their set, the DJ came on to spin a few tunes and get the club pumping again, and low and behold who happens to DJ - QUESLOVE!!!!! I literally lost control and yelled at my friend "ITS QUESTLOVE!!!!!! HOLY CRAP ITS QUESTLOVE!!!!!!". It was such a surreal experience! So here is hoping that when we go and see Django Django tomorrow that we will get to experience the same! Anyone else kicking around Brooklyn who is heading to Django Django? Lets be friends.
