DIY: FEATHER EARRINGS

Hello one and all!
The weather here in Brisbane has been less than amazing. It supposed to be summer and yet it rains almost everyday. Leaving me with hours stuck inside mi casa. Which of course means endless possibilities to ruin something I already own in order to service my cravings for newer things.

This almost always result and/or stems from a DIY.
Today I bring you some feathered earrings. Its a very simple DIY but this is more about how you can literally turn something you already own into something brand new. Or I guess in this case, borrow elements from it for a new creation.
I swear these pictures will make more sense.

ALL YOU NEED: SOME BEAUTIFUL OLD JEWELLERY, PLIERS AND SOME WILL POWER TO DISMANTLE SAID BEAUTIFUL OLD JEWELLERY.

This is a heavy piece of equipment. It was a necklace I bought from Diva for $5 on sale a very long time ago. And as much as I love it, I dont seem to wear it as often as I should. Mostly cause its very very elaborate (and heavy) and I just dont seem to get invited to that many cocktail and gala events as I would like to. ;)

What I wanted from the necklace were the feather pieces that are attached to some long chains. (Perfect, I dont even need to go out and get chains!)

Then I have these earrings that I don't really wear, cause they have lost all luster and just don't hang as they used to. So basically all I did was dismantle the hooks from these earrings and hook them on to the feathers and chains. (The earrings are also a old Diva purchase)

Et Voila! You are done. The main idea of this DIY is basically to realise that you don't have to hit the jewellery store or hardware store for DIY materials. You only need basic tools and I bet you can recycle old stuff and turn it into some on trend pieces.

I am very happy with the way they turned out. :)
Stay tuned my friends as I have at least another three blog posts to write!
But I'd rather that I spread them out... so like I said: stay tuned!

UNTILL NEXT TIME GANG!
