J. Mendel + Gossip Girl + High Tea

First of all, I am just coming down of my high from watching Gossip Girl's latest episode.
The red cut out J. Mendel gown that Serena wore in the A Touch of Eva episode, was aaaaaamazing.
Well, the dress itself is quite simple, but the way it was styled (and that damned long blond locks) will make a lot of us run to the shop to pick one up.
It was stunning, and I was in awe.
Just another styling-gasm.
For the life of me I couldn't find a photo of the dress alone, so you're going to have to do with a screenshot.

Secondly, I am off now to go and get ready for my first ever legitimate High Tea.
In the sense that, I have never been to a high tea that didn't involve fairy bread and markers all over my face.
This one is at The Stamford hotel here in Brisbane, thanks to my friend's 21st.
And since its a Saturday, the High Tea is of the chocolate variety.
I am not a big chocolate fiend.. definitely a more of a savoury girl, but I am actually quite excited. I have been craving cupcakes all week.
Partly due to the fact that I have been devoid of coffee/mocha all week thanks to my wonderful sore throat. I swear I thought I was going to lose my voice ala Little Mermaid. I have also stopped drinking juice. There is just so much sugar in them :( Really feelin it.

Anyway, as this is a fashion blog (I hope) of course I am writing of this event in order to share with the internet my stylings for the afternoon.
And sticking with the Gossip Girl theme, how could I not channel the one and only Miss Blair Waldorf.
I am definitely more of a Vanessa Abrahms when it comes to everyday sartorial choices. But I think this afternoon calls for a more special attire.
I did for a second think of how Vanessa would do High Tea. But I think doing a Blair Waldorf - sans headband mind you - is much more appropriate and FUN!
